History of the Joint Chiefs of Staff This site provides up-to-date,
factual information on the people, organizations, and activities that unify
and employ the military forces of the United States, including the Joint
Chiefs of Staff, the Joint Staff, and America's combatant commands
Military History Institute serves as the primary research facility for
the study of the U.S. Army and strives to preserve the Army's history by
ensuring access to the Army's historical research materials.
Third United States Army Organized on November 7, 1918, at Chaumont,
France, this unit has played a major role in America's military history.
Known as "Patton's Own," the Third United States Army has participated in
every major conflict from the occupation of Germany during World War I to
Desert Storm.
Naval Historical Center
is dedicated to improving the Navy's effectiveness by preserving, analyzing
and interpreting its history for the Navy and the American people. Included

Contributions of Women at the United States Naval Observatory The United
States Naval Observatory is one of the oldest scientific institutions in the
United States, but the contributions made by women have been confined to the
last 100 years. This site explores the lives and contributions of the
handful of young women who came to the Observatory before 1920.
The U.S. Air Force History Support Office
is responsible for writing books, monographs, studies, and reports to
preserve the history of the U.S. Air Force. It also provides historical
information, analysis, and perspective to Air Force leaders and their staffs
to support planning, policy development, and decision making.
Air
Force Historical Research Agency is the repository for Air Force
historical documents. The Agency's goal is to provide research facilities
for professional military education students, faculty, visiting scholars,
and the general public. It consists today of over 70,000,000 pages devoted
to the history of the service and represents the world's largest collection
of documents on U.S. military aviation.
United States Air Force Museum is the oldest and largest military
aviation museum in the world. This site contains a wealth of information
about the museum's exhibits as well as photographs of the museum's vast
collection of historical aircraft.
