Care to comment on "How To Get The Masses Off Their .....?" Let Us Know!

I don't believe it's actually possible. Not for the right reasons, anyhow. Sure, it's easy to motivate people for "free" health care, "free" retirement insurance, "free" housing, "free" citizenship . . . , even when, deep down, all those people shouting secular hosannas know damned well that nothing a politician ever gives you is free - not even their worthless promises.

Gotta hand it to the politicians, though. They know what people want to hear. Not that it's what they should be telling them, but there it is.

When it comes to motivating people for the RIGHT things, I'm completely tapped out. I could link to thousands of web pages dedicated to motivating them regarding government handouts or forcing people who (and businesses which) MAKE money to hand it over for some "progressive" cause, but that's 180 degrees from what this page is about. That is the kind of dreamy mentality I'd like to see end.

I am, however, a realist. This kind of thinking has always existed and probably always will. Still, there should be a way for those of us who oppose this gimmee-gimmee social phenomenon to organize, unite, and stand up against it. I don't mean the lip-service that the Republican Party doles out every election period and then fails to accomplish. Nor do I mean the ineffectual (and sometimes just as radical) fodder the Libertarian party touts.

What we need is a strong, rational and optimistic message based on personal freedom and SELF-responsibility. I can't do it all, though I DID take several days to fill out that freakish 2008 PRESIDENTIAL POLITICAL COURAGE TEST . I could use a little help with the rest of it.
