First there was a shortage of the flu vaccine. Now Prevnar®, which protects
against pneumococcal diseases such as meningitis and blood infections, is
also in short supply. Pneumococcal infection can cause serious illness and
even death; it is the leading cause of bacterial meningitis in the United
States.

medicine Tamiflu are running out and producer Roche will not deliver more.
Nervous Norwegians are running to stock up on Tamiflu, and the record demand

been hit by a shortage of local anaesthetics after one of the main UK
manufacturers suspended supplies. The company Dentsply was forced to halt
supply after problems at its US manufacturing plant in Chicago and does not
expect to be able to resume production until the summer.
