you notice in your area, regardless of the categories listed. This includes

for and couldn't find.
SSRsi understands that many people NEED help finding and affording health
care. What few people seem to understand is that the current crisis was
CREATED by government intervention and the creation of welfare,
Medicare/Medicaid and social security.
Prior to these institutions, nearly anyone could "afford" a visit from the
Doc (one way or another) and the Doc actually visited YOU in your home. Only
seriously critical or surgical emergencies required hospitals.
Granted, the population explosion made it more practical for the ill and
injured to visit the Docs in a centralized location (hospital or clinic) -
but it also desensitized Health Care professionals by the sheer numbers of
unending patients. The time it used to take a Doc to travel from patient
home to patient home gave them time to 'decompress' and gain perspective.
Now they are enclosed in castles of medical marvels, but think about how YOU
feel upon entering one of these places. Now think about putting in shifts of
12, 24, or 36 hours at a time in there.
I really don't know how we can possibly reverse the trend. It's been
manipulated to FORCE people who can afford insurance into the programs and
those who can't into dependence upon the government. Make no mistake about
it. This wasn't done out of charity - it was done to ensure dependence
[government] and assure profits [hospitals and insurance companies].
Personally, I [MEG] joined the Army as a Combat Medic precisely for this
reason. I may not be able to fix everything myself, but at least I'll know
what's killing me. I have no insurance (can't afford it) and probably
wouldn't get it if I could afford it. I don't like being 'forced' into
anything - least of all doing business with what I think is a sham.
ALL survivalists, however should have a working knowledge of first aid and
lifesaving techniques including CPR, Heimlich, Rescue Breathing, splinting,
bandaging and stabilizing/transporting the sick and/or injured. It's not as
hard as you think and the information in our "Emergencies"
section is more than most folks will need.
If you can afford it, I urge you to get professional training and
certification through either the Red Cross or local schools.
