Raising Children:
Anyone with kids will tell
you that there are various distinct ages in which they display certain
behavioral and developmental traits. Few will ever agree on where the
dividing lines should be placed (so please don't e-mail me about my
choices), but all will concede it's the only logical way to 1) discuss their
development, and 2) apply varying standards and expectations in relation to
them. All kids are wondrously unique, and it should be remembered that the
personal environment in which a child is raised is often times a greater
factor than mental, physical or economic considerations.
Here are the sections we are
attempting to develop, and a basic outline of things that should/will be
found there. We could use alot of help...

Babies Preschoolers |
Ages up to 4 Years Old. Dealing with the fact that you ARE a parent, learning to care for your child, and getting your child to care for you. |
| Elementary Kids | Ages 4 through 8. Preparing your child for entering the education system and developing their social skills. Gaining greater self-confidence. |
| The Middle Ages | Ages 9 through 12. Developing independence and a greater awareness of the sexes. Coping with growth spurts, self-image and peer pressures. |
| Growing Pains | Ages 13 through 17. Dating, drugs & alcohol, driving and High School. Teaching your children to become adults and how to cope with adult life. |
| The Empty Nest | Ages over 17. Managing the transition from home to college or work. Dealing with the empty nest syndrome. |
| Survival Kids | Survival Files For Kids. These files are for kids, but we believe parents should review them (first!) as well. |
Parental Quandaries:
| Marriage | The additional responsibilities of parenthood can often place a strain on the marriage. Here we will try to provide articles to help keep the marriage, not just alive, but as joyful as it was on the day you were married. |
| Divorce | Divorce is, sadly, prevalent in our society and the reality of it must be faced. If not your own, than that of an acquaintance. Your children will need help understanding it as well. |
| Death in the Family | Death is a part of life. Dealing with it takes understanding, insight and, unfortunately, experience. |
| Miscellaneous | A catch-all page for article we feel may be of some interest and help. |
