A Little Gun History: What happens when a government takes away the Citizens weapons? Try as we might to forget or ignore history, the facts remain.

The Embarrassing 2nd Amendment by Sanford Levinson, ACLU member and University of Texas constitutional scholar. Originally published in the Yale Law Journal. Sanford Levinson is a constitutional scholar 'approved' by liberals - therefore, this article carries some weight with them. It was first published in the Yale Law Journal in 1989. It makes some powerful and logical points which contradict the knee-jerk sentimental arguments of the left. Anyone serious about the RKBA should have copies of this article and be spreading them around to YOUR local liberal attorneys. Many of them will in fact give it a fair shake, for one reason because they have heard of Sanford Levinson. I guess his liberal credentials are impeccable. Anyway, good luck. This is worth reading (if you like reading law journals). Archived, if this link goes down.

A Nation of Cowards by Jeffrey Snyder. An excellent essay about the individual right and responsibility for your own self-defense. Archived, if this link goes down.

No Compromise! Don't Tread On Me! by "Minuteman"

Letter to Ginny's Copy Center - in opposition to the chain's 'no guns' signs.

Letter published in 1/6/97 Weekly Standard. Motivation for this letter: William Tucker's article in the Weekly Standard discusses Lott's CCW research. Tucker dismisses Lott's claim that generally violent crime rates are lower in areas with CCW with an anecdote about his Brooklyn neighbors. Tucker suggests that if his neighbors had been armed that there would have been a shooting. He also praises Pennsylvania's decision to exempt Philadelphia from its CCW law, because urban dwellers are more prone to violence than people from "rural" states such as Florida(?). He also discussed research published in the New England Journal of Medicine by Loftin, et al, that claimed that concealed-carry caused an increase in violent crime in certain urban areas.

Letter published in 1/8/97 Texas edition of the Wall Street Journal. This letter to the Wall Street Journal's Texas Edition was prompted by a post to tx.guns quoting the Texas Edition "Winners and Losers" column. In this column, the editors claim that Public Safety in Texas is a "loser" because traffic deaths have gone up. The increase in traffic deaths is blamed on the concealed handgun law, because DPS had to take troopers off the streets to process applications.

Armed Females of America: Pro-Gun Women on Full Auto Gun control in America has been a colossal failure and is becoming a national embarrassment. AFA will help prove that there are well-educated, “thinking” women, wives, and mothers who do not support this insanity, but who DO believe in the right to defend one’s self and family and who understand the importance of our Second Amendment.

GunCite.com This site (cool name, BTW) has one of the best articles on the second amendment I've seen. . . not to mention TONS more info for the pro-gun-rights Citizen.

Second Amendment Foundation Despite the annoying presentation, the site has some good info.

Here are some answers to often asked questions of anti-gunners When your beliefs and values are challenged, you want ready answers. The following have worked for me when debating the civil rights of gun owners in this country.

Christian Guide To Small Arms CGSA {ONLINE!) is not intended to be THE definitive source on this subject, but rather a primer for the Christian who is beginning to reject the false theology that requires him to be a pacifistic patsy in the face of heathen hordes. CGSA was first offered for download in a Windows based electronic book format in the spring of 1996. Since that time they have had many requests for a version that is less platform specific. This is Gospel Plow's attempt to meet that need.

Montana Shooting Sports Association The Montana Shooting Sports Association is the primary political action organization asserting the rights and prerogatives of gun owners, shooters, and hunters in Montana. In Montana's state capitol, Helena, MSSA is known as the "junkyard dog of politics" because of its "take no prisoners" approach to political action when asserting citizens' rights. MSSA is affiliated with the National Rifle Association of America and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, but operates independently.

The Second Amendment Foundation The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms. To that end, they carry on many educational and legal action programs designed to better inform the public about the gun control debate.

NRA.org (National Rifle Association) Home Page For those who want to get involved or stay informed, politically.

The Embarrassing Second Amendment, by Sanford Levinson, Prof. of Law, U. of Texas. Civil libertarians might not want to admit it, but the Constitution really does protect the individual right to keep and bear arms, and there are good reasons for that.

The Right To Keep and Bear Arms Lots of info, including studies, arguments and legislation on the Right To Keep and Bear Arms.

NFA and other gun law related info and cases A helpful one stop shop of firearms law and court cases
