Thousands of Recipes: Meals.com
is the premiere Web site for people with busy schedules. Simply search for
dishes online according to your tastes. We provide recipes and create a
grocery lists for you! You may have to put up with a bit of brand-name
suggestions to the shopping list, but it is all very neat just the same. The
menus and recipes all appear to be geared for minimum preparation time and
seem quite easy. Most have a dish photo accompanying the recipe, as well.
Student Cookbook
This [online] book is for the student who wants a
good meal quickly, inexpensively, reliably and most importantly to some
people, without a mess to clean up. Most of the recipes can be prepared in
an apartment, dorm, or house as long as there is some heat source (gas,
wood, electricity, propane). In fact, one person I know survived his senior
year as a political science major with a barbeque as his main cooking
apparatus. Microwaves also come in handy for reheating food if there is one
available (cafeteria, dorm). Gas and electric ranges work equally well.

Fish — this gourmet food is fun to catch, relatively easy to cook,
and healthy to eat About 70% of the earth’s surface is covered with
salt water, and 4% of land surface (another 1% of the earth’ total surface)
is covered with fresh water. In these waters there are more than 20,000
recorded species of fish—15,000 of which are edible—and about 35,000 species
of shellfish. Fossilized evidence and ancient rock paintings from around the
world show that people have been successfully catching and eating a wide
variety of seafood for more than 100,000 years.
Make grape juice the easy way Squeezing and straining grapes for grape juice was not exactly my
idea of fun. So when my neighbor showed me a faster, easier method, I was
delighted. For anyone else tired of doing it the hard way, follow these
steps for a delicious grape juice concentrate. (scroll down for the article)
Greens and rhubarb are spring tonics
Rhubarb and greens are classic spring tonics. The reason for this
is that they are among the first things to grow to a usable size in
springtime, even faster than those other delights, strawberries and lettuce.
Making maple syrup
The art of making maple syrup is generally attributed to the Native
Americans. Early settlers arriving in America learned the skill from them.
They then went on to improve on the Native American’s techniques by creating
devices for tapping and collecting the maple tree’s sap. These same basic
devices and techniques are still used in America today to produce the maple
syrup that we enjoy on our pancakes and waffles.
Slaughtering and Butchering
Fall is butchering time, a period of joy in the harvest of the
year’s work and of sadness that the lives of your beautiful, healthy animals
have come to an end. On this occasion the animals should be treated with the
same kindness and respect with which they were treated during their lives.
Good farmers raise their animals free from fear, anxiety and stress. The
animals should meet their end as they lived, without the terror of the
slaughterhouse.
