~ SSRsi's Government Gone Mad Page ~

Statistically, governments go bad every 250-400 years or so. Granted, it's usually because the people governed have allowed it to become so, but there it is.... and we are past the cusp and well into the suspect period.

SSRsi Note: Just because you "read it on the internet" either through a link from here or elsewhere, DOES NOT MAKE IT TRUE. Please use a little common sense and always CHECK THE FACTS and VERIFY, VERIFY, VERIFY!

Regarding the above graphic: SSRsi does not quite agree with whoever is issuing the Alert - but we do agree with the idea. We would, as of April 2011, place it in the orange alert range...(up from yellow)... possibly on the verge of turning red.

Corrupted!: 5 Shocking Examples Of Government Corruption That Will Blow Your Mind: At times it really is breathtaking how corrupted the U.S. government has become. Government corruption has become so endemic in our society that most people have just kind of accepted it as "normal". But shouldn't we all get hopping mad when we learn that the Federal Reserve sent billions of dollars in bailout money to addresses in the Cayman Islands? Shouldn't we all be furious when one of the leading candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, Mitt Romney, declares that he is "not going to spend my time focusing on the Federal Reserve?" Shouldn't we all be alarmed when Nancy Pelosi gives a speech in which she says that "elections shouldn't matter?" Shouldn't we all demand that someone be held accountable when we find out that a CBO analysis shows that the "$38.5 billion" in spending cuts will only reduce the budget deficit for this year by $352 million dollars? On top of everything else, shouldn't we all be absolutely horrified when the TSA gropes little 6 year old girls and virtually none of our politicians demand change?

Tyranny of government A reprint of an article that appeared in the San Diego Mirror Tribune
2/2/94 entitled: "Is its [guns] purpose for hunting ...or collecting ...for sport ...or for self-defense against criminals?" No, although these have been offered as justification for its existence. Its sole purpose is to secure an individual's right for self-defense against government. "It" is the Second Amendment. In order to understand the Second Amendment's constitutional purpose, one first must recognize the distinction between the "Constitution" and "Bill of Rights". The Constitution establishes a government of limited powers; thus it deals exclusively with power. Conversely, the Bill of Rights (Amendments 1 through 10) was adopted to secure individual rights against government's intrusion; thus it deals exclusively with individual rights. Lots more on this site as well.

Juries, America's Historic Barrier Against Oppressive Laws And ... Any Citizen when serving on a jury, if he KNOWS his rights and duties as a juror, can in the case he is on, stop the government cold if he believes the statute to be unconstitutional or unfair simply by voting not guilty. When juries find a defendant not guilty in cases where the defendant did in fact violate the statute, it nullifies the statute in that particular case. Repeated and continuous JURY NULLIFICATION of a law makes it impossible for the government to enforce it and will lead to repeal of that law. See also: JRP "Viper Jury"

Loss of Privacy, government tyranny, false security Fight this stupidity. Have courage in the face of evil and tyranny. And don't pull your pants down for anyone at any airport. I know I've made my stand. Perhaps my next editorial will be written in jail. I hope someone out there will post bond. Cuz' all my money now goes to paying the new flight safety tax, and the TRA taxes. All so I can have the privilege of being physically searched by someone who couldn't pass the policeman's test, or in more instances, couldn't pass the high school graduation test.

The ten truths of tyranny Very sarcastic. I like that.

No Compromise! Don't Tread On Me! by "Minuteman" Kind of a rant. Modern Americans are content to grovel at the feet of their government, compromising at every turn, whimpering insipid platitudes of subservient thanks when their Constitutional rights, assured by the original ten Amendments to the Constitution, are granted to them anew as privileges. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights are limitations on government -- not the individual.

The Fate of the State by Martin van Creveld; From Parameters, Spring 1996, pp. 4-18.: In this article the state of the state will be discussed under five headings. Part I looks at the state's declining ability to fight other states. Part II outlines the rise and fall of the welfare state. Part III examines the effects of modern technology, economics, and the media. Part IV focuses on the state's ability to maintain public order. Finally, Part V is an attempt to tie all the threads together and to see where we are headed... (pdf) [Link recovered 4/16/11 - now hosted on site!]

Six Solutions to Government Tyranny There seems to have evolved a system whereby the government, by selectively not enforcing the law creates situations that enable it to reward itself with more taxes and more political power. For years the Clinton Justice Department drastically reduced the prosecutions of firearms law violations and thereby created a rise in such crimes which was used to justify the creation of new and far more restrictive laws and new taxes to increase the appropriate bureaucracies.

Orwellian "Scenarios": Emergency Preparedness Against the "Universal Adversary" by MICHEL CHOSSUDOVSKY: The "reality model" script of threats and conspirators replaces the real world. These fabricated realities penetrate the inner-consciousness of key decision makers. The reality model script molds the behavior of public officials, it builds a "knowledge" and "understanding", namely a shared ignorance regarding the war on terrorism and the "adversaries" who oppose the administration's war and homeland security agendas. A world of fiction becomes reality. The scenarios "enable exercise players to simulate intelligence gathering and analysis", in preparation of an actual emergency situation which, according to the scenarios' assumptions, would lead to mass arrests of presumed terror suspects. Fiction becomes fact...

National Security Agency Echelon Funding by Domestic Terrorism The Unabomber case played a key role in getting funding support for Echelon. Three deaths over 20 years generated 10,000 newspaper headlines and trillions in anti-terrorist funding. Did the FBI have a role in funding echelon by killing or covering up the killing, of American citizens ?

Tyranny, Government leadership, and liberty The use of “leadership” is with tongue in cheek as the saying goes. You see, I do not believe elected or appointed or hired people in government positions are “leaders”. For the most part these alleged leaders or employees or agents are nothing more than treasonous anti-American thugs who lack a clue as to the foundation for this union of states, fondly known and remembered by many of us as the “united States of America, land of the free and home of the brave..."  (pdf) [Link recovered 4/16/11 - now hosted on site!]

Corrupt government, conspiracy, new world order, no future. Who can blame us Americans for feeling that we're passengers on a runaway train called the United States, helpless to stop it before it runs over a symbolic cliff—taking us and our children and grandchildren with it into a brave new world or 1084 or worse? A Harris Pole found that most of us believe "the people running the country don't really care what happens to you.” Politicians, media wonks, celebrities, judges, teachers, professors, and “activists” endorse a national insanity as though it were normal. Small wonder so many of us are convinced that inmates run our American asylum...

Police State USA? American citizens had assumed that the Patriot Act and the FBI Guidelines assured that only foreign aliens could be placed in military detention centers, unprotected by the U.S. constitution. But on June 10, 2002, an American citizen was declared by Bush, without due process, to be an "enemy combatant" and to have no constitutional protections. This American citizen was thrown into a naval brig in South Carolina.

Do Dots Connect to Police State? Like several other law enforcement changes proposed by the Bush administration during the past two weeks, this move was sharply criticized by civil libertarians, one of whom cautioned that Bush was leading the country toward a "police state."

Complete HTML Text of the FBI's Project Megiddo The FBI recommends to local police forces that they prepare for local violence organized by white racist groups, here identified as apocalyptic. How local police forces will even get their staff to show up in a meltdown is a real issue, let alone assign some of them to cover vague threats. The report offers only speculation that such events will take place. See also: FBI and Project Megiddo: Updates

Mount Weather: Primed for Martial Law An overview of FEMA's secret underground facility for controlling the United States during a declaration of martial law. Few Americans -- indeed, few Congressional representatives -- are aware of the existence of Mount Weather, a mysterious underground military base carved deep inside a mountain near the sleepy rural town of Bluemont, Virginia, near the border with West Virginia, just 46 miles from Washington DC. Mount Weather -- also known as the Western Virginia Office of Controlled Conflict Operations -- is buried not just in hard granite, but in secrecy as well. Defense Chief Says U.S. Freedom May Have to be Curtailed The nation's defense chief told the Army Times he once considered the chilling specter of armored vehicles surrounding civilian hotels or government buildings to block out terrorists as strictly an overseas phenomenon. But no longer. It could happen here, Cohen said he concluded after eight months of studying threats under the Pentagon microscope. Free-lance terrorists with access to deadly chemical and biological bombs are "going to change the way in which the American people view security in our own country," he predicted in a Sept. 10 interview.

"Government Out of Hand" Links to topics of government abuse and suspected abuse of power and citizenry. Usurpation is the exercise of powers by an agent which have not been delegated to him by the principal. In a constitutional republic like the United States of America, acts by officials are legitimate only if they are consistent with and based on a constitution, a body of laws which are superior to all subsequent statutes and other acts of officials, which embodies all delegations of power, and which may recognize certain rights to further define the limits on the powers delegated. It is a fundamental principle that all acts of officials not derived from the delegated powers of the constitution are null and void from inception, not just from the point at which a court may find them unconstitutional.

Codification of Presidential Proclamations and Executive Orders An A-Z Index that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Brought to you by the Federal Register.

About Executive Orders

Executive orders are official documents, numbered consecutively, through which the President of the United States manages the operations of the Federal Government.

The text of Executive orders appears in the daily Federal Register as each Executive order is signed by the President and received by the Office of the Federal Register. The text of Executive orders beginning with Executive Order 7316 of March 13, 1936, also appears in the sequential editions of Title 3 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

NOTE: The total number of Executive orders issued for each administration includes number-and-letter designated orders, such as 9577-A, 9616-A, etc.

A Guide to Presidential Documents

April 3, 2000 | Another casualty of tyranny There is no such thing as a “voluntary” agreement with the government. The analogy is to call an armed robbery a “voluntary forfeiture” by the victim. In reality, a voluntary agreement to do the government’s bidding is capitulation and surrender by the victim and tyranny, extortion, and blackmail by the government. A tyrannical government will use any means to further its quest for power and control. Freedom, liberty, the legislative process are nuisances that must be quashed by whatever method that works. Concepts such as democracy and documents such as constitutions mean nothing.
