Local Firearms and Ammunition Shops
Despite being world-class hunting and fishing country there are, to the best of my knowledge, only a couple of places to get ammo up here. There are no firearms dealers or licensed gunsmiths in Summit and ammo can only be had at Wal-Mart or the local Sports Authority - and in very limited calibers. Of course, there's always Denver or online. There are no reloading shops, clubs, etc. in either county. Grand county lists a couple of gun shops and gunsmiths.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an entrepreneurial survivalist or two. I have considered carrying ammo in my store in the near future, but I don't have the space or the FFL to carry firearms. It's not a matter of a lack of desire for these items, but an indication of the politically liberal influence - not just here, but the state of Colorado in general. This used to be a pretty conservative state, but the Californians began invading some 8 years ago, and boy are they political junkies. Pretty much took over the place while the conservative residents sat back on their haunches and shook their heads. It was something of a spectacle that most of us did not believe would amount to much - at least, not as it affects us. We were wrong.

The Criteria List - How the 2 Counties Stack Up (follow links to detailed information)

Membership Goals:

Our target goals for voting age self-reliant survivalist members:
Grand County: 13,406 population x 15% = 2,011 members
Summit County: 28,296 population x 15% = 4,245 members

Total voting age members wanted:
6,256, although half that would make a BIG difference to the counties.
