The Survivalist Pledge:
To help all that can be helped,
To defend all that can be defended,
To save all that can be saved,
To free all that seek freedom,
To stay alive as long as I can and stay free as long as I live.
Recently, we rid the world of Theodore Bundy, who murdered many women without
the aid of an "assault rifle" or a hand gun. Had his victims had a
hand gun when they needed one, any of those women might have saved herself and
the lives of those who came after her. Every adult male in Switzerland who
wishes to vote or hold public office, must keep the weapons of war in his home,
ready for instant use; yet Switzerland has a very LOW murder rate. The Swiss are
given superb training in the use of firearms--and we should be, too! The Swiss
confederation of free men has survived as a democracy since 1260, twice as long
as any other democracy on earth has ever lasted (as a democracy or as a
republic). The only totally unique aspect of the Swiss is their insistence on
the responsible ownership and use of the best weapon available. The governor of
Virginia, after Bacon's rebellion, said, "Woe betide the governor of a land
where half the populace is poor and desperate and armed." To which I must
add: Then it behooves us to be armed to the teeth so that our government goes to
considerable length to see that we do not become poor or desperate.
Personal firearms are America's last line of defense against any invader. You
should read Sir Winston Churchill, "The malice of the wicked was reinforced
by the weakness of the virtuous." (Paraphrase: We need the best weapons
money can buy, if we come up against Russian troops.) Jews now call the time
when only the police and military had guns the Holocaust! I am not a member of
the NRA; nor do I love guns. I place a much higher emphasis on saving lives, on
not being a tempting potential victim. That is why MY cause is the deployment of
blast and radiation shelters for 100 percent of our population.
Personally, I held several people who had broken into my house at gun point
until the sheriff arrived. I did not have to fire a shot. They would have been
gone for five minutes when the sheriff arrived if I had not been armed and
willing to shoot if need be. Self defense is the most basic of human rights.
From it, all of our other rights spring. We have delegated self defense to
specialists: the police, the courts, and our military. But when they fail to
provide the safety that is their reason for existence, then no one should be
surprised when we take back those rights. Lynching is a manifestation of this,
and is only committed when people have lost faith in the justice system due to
its repeated failures. Being home brewed, this justice is of nowhere near the
quality that good courts and should provide. It is a last resort of desperate
angry people. Those two emotions cloud clear thinking.
Consider the following:
Several people have expressed surprise at the violence of people's responses
to Ted Bundy; at their celebrating his death. The following quote may help
explain the viciousness of their response. Robert A. Heinlein, in the NOTEBOOKS
OF LAZARUS LONG (also available in Volume 6 of NEW DESTINIES, page 64):
"All societies are based on rules to protect pregnant women and young children. All else is surplusage, excrescence, adornment, luxury, or folly which can--and must--be dumped in an emergency to preserve this prime function. As racial survival is the ONLY universal morality, no other basis is possible. Attempts to formulate a 'perfect society' on any foundation other than 'Women and children first!' is not only witless, it is automatically genocidal. Nevertheless, starry-eyed idealists (all of them male) have tried endlessly--and no doubt will keep on trying."
Ted Bundy killed both women and children; how can anyone be surprised when we
react with ferocity!
Donald Kingsbury in COURTSHIP RITE, page 208, says:
"Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems. Throw away the solution and you get the problem back. Sometimes the problem has mutated or disappeared. Often it is still there as strong as it ever was. [Ours] is a harsh planet. It kills us. We do better when ritual is in control of death."
Conservatives generally believe: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
Execution laws are working fine now. They are the solution to the problem of
people who misuse their guns. Take away the guns and you get vastly worse
problems eventually.
Misrule or conquest.
