How to read & use this book: This book has a double purpose, namely, to present the advantages of using Red Cross Dynamite on the farm, and to give detailed instructions as to the best methods of using same. Every farmer, orchardist or other person interested in a farm or orchard should read this book from cover to cover at least once, in order to get a general idea of the utility of Red Cross Dynamite on the farm, and how to handle it safely, economically and efficiently. Next consider how you could use Red Cross Dynamite to advantage on your farm or in your orchard. Then figure out how much Red Cross Dynamite you need and order it at -least three weeks in advance of the time you expect to use it. Then spend your spare time during those three weeks in carefully studying all of the instructions that pertain to the particular uses of Red Cross Dynamite that apply to your proposed work. It is especially necessary that you become thoroughly familiar with the method of priming Red Cross Dynamite cartridges and of charging bore holes. A great deal of information can also be obtained by reading the letters from farmers and orchardists who have had experience in the use of Red Cross Dynamite, as their descriptions of methods employed contain many good practical points. It must be borne in mind that to the average farmer, dynamite is something absolutely new which he has never even seen and knows practically nothing about. He cannot therefore do too much reading about Red Cross Dynamite so that when he does handle it he will not injure himself through ignorance or carelessness, but will use it intelligently, safely and profitably.
