~ SSRsi Historical Document Preservation ~
Before the internet was 'open to the public,' there were private, dial-up networks called Bulletin Board Systems, or "BBS's." This was the dawn of the information age. Here we seek to present and preserve some of the documents generated and distributed on those boards.

THE FEDERAL RESERVE
Just Who Pockets the Profits from this Set-up?

Not lying is not necessarily telling the truth, which is what Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan is very good at. He will tell us that the Fed is a profitable enterprise that turns as much as $20 billion over to the Treasury. What Greenspan does not tell, is that the bank makes 10 times that much or more in profit, which it keeps for its stockholders - stockholders no one knows or can identify.

Greenspan will also tell us that he meets regularly with President Clinton and his top economic advisers - leaving the impression that he "consults" with the White House, while the reality is that the president cannot give Greenspan one single order nor threaten to fire him if the Fed does not obey that order. Yet the Fed is a creation of the Congress as Reps. Louis T. McFadden and Wright Patman often reminded us.

If the Fed is not obeying the Congress or the President, why does the Congress not put the Fed out of business in terms of the exclusive right of Congress to coin money, which it was never authorized to delegate to the Fed in the first place? This is the question you should be asking aspiring candidates for the House and Senate this fall election time.
